Born in Rome, Italy and raised in New York, Lorenzo began his schooling at the Fashion Institute of Technology, but then earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and began working under the guidance of Dorothy Draper and Company. The main focus work with Dorothy Draper was historical preservation and restoration of existing residences and hotels. He then went on to work with C. R. Davis, Inc. in the capacity of Vice President. He traveled extensively in both positions.
In 1995 he relocated to South Florida and was employed with Shuster Design Associates. After departing from Shuster Design, Lorenzo formed LBM Design, Inc. and was a solo practitioner until the year 2000 when he became a partner with the William Bernard Design Group.
